LUIS AGULLO
Today, technology, social networks, and the speed with which we live, impact the way we perceive the world around us, and therefore Art. However, talking with Luis Agulló is like entering a time capsule, where the noise of all these factors is put on pause, giving prominence to chivalry, friendliness, humor, and simplicity. Qualities that reflect his enormous talent with neon tones.
On this occasion, I find myself in Madrid, a city where half of my family and half of my identity live. Cradle of great masters such as Goya and Velázquez, although my focus on this occasion is with the new generation of Spanish artists. This is the case of Luis Agulló, who, for the purposes of this interview, opens the doors of his house to me, just twenty minutes from the Spanish capital.
He studied Transportation Design at the IED in Turin, Italy, and it is in 2005 that he wins the prestigious Ferrari International Award “New Concepts Of The Myth”.
THE West Hollywood EDITION
Edition presents a perfect marriage between its architecture and design that permeates all the senses. Passionate, creative, avant-garde and visionary are just some of the adjectives that characterize Schrager. Considered the father of the "boutique hotel" concept, he reminds us, once again, that luxury can be taken to new heights.
Edition is undoubtedly the most innovative hotel and residence concept of the moment, and with this launch, Ian Schrager reminds us why he is considered the guru of the hotel world, encapsulating the Zeitgeist since the 70s in his creations.
His conceptual mind gave rise to the Delano hotel, in Miami, and the Mondrian, in Los Angeles, as well as the renowned Studio 54, which will forever be reflected as one of the most emblematic places of the time.
Wyatt bunce
His paintings exude a playful delicacy that draws the viewer in, questioning the meaning of his images. He lets his mind play, giving himself the freedom to investigate what he sees and feels, trying not to judge the result. Negative space and stairs are also main characters in his creations.
Wyatt does not believe that his art, while absurd in nature, lacks depth. He finds it comforting and light to pay attention to certain apparently unimportant acts of daily life. One of these examples is a painting where he shows a man with a miniature dustpan and broom, and he tells me, “No one in their right mind would need a dustpan and a broom of that size to clean a minimum amount of dust, however , contrasting with the heaviness of what is currently happening in the world, paying attention to those details brings joy and lightness with which I like to live life”.
