As if walking into the iconic Avenue Montaigne 2 building, house to Maison Emanuel Ungaro wasn’t unique enough, meeting Creative Director Philippe Paubert took the presentation to another level.
The Fall/Winter 2023 collection features various colors, textures, and motifs inspired by the Mokuhanga woodblock. A modern interpretation impeccably executed by Paubert gifts the modern man with an array of garments that embody the identity of Ungaro.
Mixing the beauty of traditions with modern style, is a perfect fusion for Ungaro as Japan is the inspiration for this collection.
The Fall/Winter 2023 collection shines a light on jersey-knitted fabrics. Coats, pants, and jackets with a classic and oversized fit which allow for sophistication and comfort.

Monsieur Emanuel Ungaro would always describe the Ungaro man as being “Liquid and fatigué” shares Philippe Paubert. A concept in which a man is both full of life and ever changing, just as the collections.
One of my favorite pieces was a kimono inspired jacket. It blends a classic Ungaro fabric but reinvented in a way that feels incredibly modern. A true example of mixing traditions with modernity. Also a 3D knitted sweater in a soft caramel hue with a stunning mélange of knitting techniques caught my eye. A piece that I wish to own and wear in my ever-changing nomadic lifestyle.
Ungaro’s strong emphasis on the art of tailoring continues to be present in the garments. The collection embraces the Heritage embedded in its DNA, yet continues to evolve by opening the door to the moment and the future in fashion.
