HERMÈS Men’s ready-to-wear Fall/Winter 2023

Paris. City of Lights, of style and sophistication. A city where time seems to stand still and yet moves undoubtedly and fearlessly forward into the future.

Witnessing Hermès Men’s ready-to-wear Fall/Winter 2023 collection in this city, made the experience extra special.

In their own words, this collection is “An invitation to a winter journey where timelessness rhymes with innovation, where creation creates a resonance between comfort and sophistication”. Hermès Press

Even though the palette reflected muted tones like charcoal, gravel, fog, caramel, brown, coffee, camel, navy, ivory, and black, there was nothing quiet about the collection. As in a modern fairytale, these garments reflect a sense of life. Multiple lives even, adorning the men who wear them with exquisite details.

Braided leathers and knits, confident silhouettes, and the always-perfect construction are synonymous with Hermès.

An adventure that began in 1837 when the harness maker Thierry Hermès opened a workshop in rue Basse-du-Rempart. Little would he know, his desire for discreet finesse and technical achievement would still be recognized to this day. In fact, it was in 1925 that Émile Hermès created the first men’s ready-to-wear garment, a golf jacket.

Hermès continues to work with incredible artisans and creative directors. Such is the case of Véronique Nichanian. She has helmed the position of Creative Director of Hermès Homme, for over 31 years. Nichanian believes that luxury should be grounded in necessity. And so her collections reflect this necessary luxury that is contemporary, and classic at the same time.

A collection that embodies the nomadic lifestyle. Designed for the man who is constantly moving, in a fast-paced world but who is conscious enough to stop and take in the details. He is a man who does not take things for granted and is on a continuous quest to live and reimagine himself and the world around him.

Seeing the collection up close and personal in Paris was a vibrant and very special experience. I truly believe that sometimes it is not necessarily about buying the clothes, but touching them, witnessing the work behind each garment, and connecting to the story, the inspiration, and the magic.
