STEPHANE ROLLAND / Haute Couture SS 23

One of the most anticipated shows during Paris Fashion Week was Stéphane Rolland’s SS 23 Haute Couture. 1970’s Rio was the inspiration behind Rolland’s latest collection. A clear Brazilian spirit and the tunes of Bossa Nova accompanied Rolland’s powerful and mystical array of sculptural designs.

Emerald greens, crisp white gowns, and grounded browns walked down the runway at Théâtre National de Chaillot.

The last look was a voluminous wedding dress made of golden cloqué lamé. Rolland was inspired by a gilded Madonna sculpture, called Our Lady of Aparecida.

The 3D nature of Rolland’s design paired with the effortless fluidity of the gowns created a modern interpretation of wearable Haute Couture. Complex yet simple, a juxtaposition of past and present, while giving us a glimpse into the future.

Stephane Rolland gave us access to his most intimate dream. He showcased an exquisite collection that captivated the audience and manifested a true show from start to finish. An experience to be remembered.
